| | "Youth Suicide Prevention: An Introduction to Gatekeeping" is an online workshop from the National Center for Suicide Prevention Training (NCSPT) and the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC). The goal of the course is to introduce participants to gatekeeping as a means of youth suicide prevention and intervention. The course is free, and is being offered in cooperation with the Suicide Awareness Partnership in South Dakota.
| The South Dakota Mental Health Directory was created to help families identify and select clinicians and agencies that offer mental health services throughout South Dakota. The directory does not list chemical dependency or addiction treatment providers or programs (for that informaion, please contact the S.D. Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse at 800-265-9684. | Tribal governments (Cheyenne River, 605-964-4155; Crow Creek, 605-245-2221; Flandreau, 605-997-3891; Lower Brule, 605-473-5561; Oglala, 605-867-5821; Rosebud, 605-747-2381; Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux Tribe, 605-698-3911; Standing Rock, 701-854-7202; Yankton, 605-384-3804) all have a contact person who oversees suicide prevention for that tribe. Two centralized organizations that work with South Dakota tribes on health issues are the Aberdeen Area Office of Indian Health Services and the Aberdeen Area Tribal Chairmen’s Health Board.
